Don't have Anima's plugin for Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma?
Here's how to install it.

Watch Video Tutorials of how to Add Media to your Designs!

Anima's supports the following media formats:

  • YouTube

  • Vimeo

  • MP4

  • GIF

  • Lottie File (.json)

How To Embed Videos, GIFs, and Lottie Files

  1. Be sure you've created an Artboard or Frame in your design platform to start

  2. Create a placeholder (a shape or image) where you'll embed the video

  3. Select the placeholder, go to the Anima Plugin and under the Prototype tab, select Media (Video, Gifs, Lottie)

  4. Paste your source’s URL (How to upload local files) and click Next

  5. Set the Playback settings

  6. Click Save

To see it live, click Preview in Browser in the Anima Panel.

❗️Note: Your videos will not play within your design platform (Figma/XD/Sketch), but they can be played when previewing in browser and in the Anima web app once your design is synced.

How to Upload Local Files

1. If you want to embed locally stored files, click 'upload file', which will take you to the Files tab inside your Project Settings in the Anima web app.

2. From here, you can upload your videos/GIFs files from your computer, then click the ellipsis ••• and Copy Link:

Paste your copied URL into the media field, press Next, set your playback settings and save!

❗️ Please note, your video will only play once previewed/synced with the Anima web app, and not in XD/Figma/Sketch!

If you are having trouble uploading a video:

  • Check to see if the file is less than 200MB

  • Be sure the file is in a supported format before uploading

  • Make sure you have synced your design to the project
