An anchor link is a special URL that takes you to a certain place on the same page. For example, the table of contents in this article contains anchor links which connect headings and the relevant sections below.

This guide covers how to add anchor links to a different section on the same page in Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.

Create an Anchor Link in Figma

  1. Select the layer which will trigger the navigation event

  2. Go to Prototype mode in Figma

  3. Drag link to desired destination element in the frame

  4. Make sure Interaction is set to 'Scroll to'

  5. Preview or Sync your design to view the Interaction in effect!

Create an Anchor Link in Adobe XD

  2. Click Links in the Anima plugin

  3. Select Scroll to from the Link Type drop-down menu

4. Select the layer that will act as the Anchor (you'll see this artboard name appear under the destination)

5. Click Save to apply it

6. Preview or Sync your design to view the Interaction in effect!

Create an Anchor Link in Sketch

  1. Select the layer which will trigger the navigation event

  2. Inside the Anima plugin under the Prototype tab, click Flow > Links

  3. Select the Target Layer within the Artboard or Layers Panel

  4. Preview or Sync your design to view the Interaction in effect!
